DESIGNER Buckler COLLECTION Fall 2006 STORY Who Killed Punk? AT Bowery Ballroom DATE 2 February 2006 FOTO Keith Widyolar |
|
Starting with black and white, Buckler showed punk and baroque prints with stripes and plum, red, royal blue, and roasted brown accents. Titled, "Who killed punk?," Buckler's collection is perfect for the young man making a fashionable night of it out on Manhattan's St. Marks Place and points downtown. Buckler turned the house into a murder scene and police lineup complete with cops in uniform. At the end of the show, a stocking-masked street hood created what looked like some unexpected excitement. Hair was an over the top mix of the Shampoo-era and 60's bouffants. It was Warren Beatty pushed even bigger. Makeup carried softened references to Marilyn Manson. The overall look was masculine man under feminine hair. No insecurity there. See for yourself at the Buckler Showroom in Manhattan's Meatpacking district and stores in the US, Europe, Middle East and Asia. Punk isn't dead, Buckler's just taken it high-style.
