   After some fifteen years in the United States, Geova Rodriguez returned to his Brazilian roots to renew old friendships and make new ones during Sao Paulo Fashion Week Winter 2006. Just like in New York, it seems that everyone knows Geova Rodriguez.
   I've been his house photographer for the past two seasons and have worked very closely with him, but visiting Brazil gave me a deeper understanding of Geova Rodriguez's work.
   The texture in Geova Rodriguez's dresses is the texture of the vines that climb the walls of homes in Sao Paulo. His bright colors are the bright colors of the birds and flowers and fruits of Brazil. His hanging hems are the roots of trees that drop down from the air.
   The sensuality of his clothes is the sensuality of the Brazilians. Geova Rodriguez's energy combines the rhythm of Sao Paulo streets, the wild vibration of the rain forest, and the warmth of its beaches.
   I first introduced myself to Geova Rodriguez because every day there would be a brilliant new dress in his East Village New York shop window, but all I ever saw happening inside was a man sitting on a beach chair watching soap operas on television.
   Both his designs and approach to life are essentially Brazilian. Você não pode menos de adorá-lo.
